Why it exists
It was built for a family trip to Darjeeling — nine adults and two children travelling by car, with a hired driver, three days of hotels, meals and tolls, and a running argument about who had paid for what.
Notes apps and spreadsheets kept losing track, mostly because the people paying were never the same as the people the money was spent on. That turns out to be the general problem, so the tool was opened up for anyone to use.
What it does well
What it is not
It does not move money. Nothing is connected to a bank, no payment is processed, and card details are never requested. It is a shared notebook that does arithmetic — the actual paying back happens between you, however you normally do it.
Privacy
Trips are private to the people invited to them. No advertising trackers, no analytics products, nothing sold or shared. The visitor number below is a plain count kept on our own server with no IP address stored. The privacy policy covers the part most services skip: much of what you enter is about other people.
Who makes it
Built and run by Ornova Labs in Malda, West Bengal, India, alongside a handful of other small tools at ornovalabs.com. It is free to use, and if something is broken or missing the contact page reaches a real person.
