How to use Railway PPT: a step-by-step tutorial

A complete walkthrough of Railway PPT, from creating your account to downloading a finished deck: register and activation, the dashboard, the three-column generator, choosing a template (the form changes to match), Magic Rewrite, saved slides and agencies, the live preview, and full mobile support.

If you make railway site presentations, you already know how much of the evening goes into formatting rather than thinking. Railway PPT exists to take that part off your hands: you fill in a few fields, watch a clean slide build itself in a live preview, and download a finished deck. This is a complete, step-by-step guide to using it, from creating your account to downloading your first presentation.

The whole flow is short, and it works just as well on a phone as on a desktop, so you can build a deck from the site if you need to.

What Railway PPT does

Railway PPT is a browser-based generator for railway site presentations. Instead of fighting with slide software, you choose a template, fill in the project details, and the tool builds a clean, consistently formatted slide for you, updating a live preview as you type. There is nothing to install, and because it runs in the browser it works on whatever device you have to hand.

Step 1: Open the app and start a report

Go to ornovalabs.com/railway-ppt and click Create your first report. That takes you to the login screen. If you already have an account, sign in and skip ahead; if not, this is where you make one.

Step 2: Register and wait for activation

On the login screen, choose Need an account? Register. The page stays on the same address and switches to the registration form. Fill it in to create your account. When you submit, a message appears telling you to wait for an administrator to activate your account. This is a deliberate, one-time gate: access is approved by an admin rather than granted automatically, so there is a short wait before your first login. Once your account is activated, you are ready to go.

Good to know. Activation only happens once. After your account is approved, you log in normally every time, with no further waiting.

Step 3: Log in and reach your dashboard

After activation, sign in at the same login screen. You land on your dashboard, the home base for your presentations. From here, click Generate new PPT/PDF to start building.

Step 4: Open the generator

That button opens the generator, the main workspace. It is laid out in three columns, and understanding that layout makes everything else obvious: settings on the left, the slide form in the middle, and a live preview on the right.

The generator at a glance: settings on the left, the slide form in the middle, and a slide that builds itself on the right.

Step 5: Set the look once in Global Settings

The left-hand Global Settings panel controls how the whole deck looks, so you set it once and every slide follows. There are four controls: Theme / Font Family (a preset that matches your office's style), Border Style (for example the rounded "Railway Standard" card), a Custom Primary Color picker for the header colour, and a Global Font Size. Choose these first and you will not have to think about formatting again as you add slides.

Step 6: Add slides β€” pick a template, fill the form

The middle column is where each slide is built, and it starts with the Template dropdown. This is the most important thing to understand about the tool: each template shows its own set of fields. Choose a different template and the form below changes to match it, so you always see exactly the fields that template needs and nothing else. The title/info template, for instance, asks for the project details, while other templates present their own layout's fields.

Once you have picked a template, you fill it in. A few features make this quick:

  • Work Type lets you mark the slide as Capital or Zonal work, which sets the slide's label (the preview header reads "CAPITAL WORK", for example).
  • Magic Rewrite sits beside each text field and uses AI to tidy or rephrase what you have written. It draws on your AI credits, shown as a count out of fifty, so you can see how many you have left.
  • Use a saved Agency pulls in agency details you have stored before, so you do not retype them.
  • Saved Slides β€” copy & edit lets you start from a slide you made earlier, and Save this slide stores the current one for reuse later.

As you type, the Live Preview on the right redraws the slide in real time, so you are never guessing how it will look. Build one slide, save or add it, then repeat with the next template until your deck is complete.

Step 7: Generate and download

When your slides are ready, generate the presentation and download it as a PPT or PDF. Because every slide was built from the same settings and templates, the finished deck comes out consistent from the first slide to the last, with none of the manual tidying that usually eats the evening.

It works on mobile, plus a few time-savers

One of the most useful things about Railway PPT is that the whole generator works properly on a phone, not just a desktop. The three-column layout adapts to the smaller screen, the live preview still updates, and you can build and download a deck from the site itself, which is exactly where these reports often need to be made.

A few habits will make you faster:

  • Set your Global Settings first, so formatting is decided once for the whole deck.
  • Save agencies and reusable slides, then copy them instead of starting from scratch each time.
  • Write your text plainly, then use Magic Rewrite to polish it, keeping an eye on your AI credits.
  • Let the live preview guide you, fix anything that looks off before moving to the next slide.
  • Pick the template that matches the slide you need, and let the form adapt to it.

That is the whole tool. Register once, wait for activation, then it is simply choose a template, fill the fields, watch the preview, and download, on your desktop or your phone, for as many slides as your report needs. Frequently asked questions

Open the app at ornovalabs.com/railway-ppt and click Create your first report, which takes you to the login screen. If you do not have an account, choose 'Need an account? Register' and fill in the form. Your account is then activated by an administrator, and once that is done you can log in.
Access is approved by an administrator rather than granted automatically, so there is a short, one-time wait after you register. You will see a message asking you to wait for activation. Once your account is approved you log in normally every time, with no further waiting.
Magic Rewrite uses AI to tidy or rephrase the text in a field. It draws on your AI credits, which are shown as a count out of fifty, so you can see how many rewrites you have left. It is optional, you can also type your text directly.
Because each template has its own set of fields. When you choose a different template from the dropdown, the form updates to show exactly the fields that template needs, so you only ever fill in what that particular slide layout requires.
Yes. The whole generator works on a phone, not just a desktop. The layout adapts to the smaller screen, the live preview still updates as you type, and you can build and download your presentation directly from the site, which is often where these reports are needed.
